The agents escorted her down stairs into a chamber illuminated only by wall mounted torches burning bright. They begun to bow and formed a line behind Argentine preventing her from reaching the exit. At the end of the room was a throne with the Earth Kingdom symbol above it. The figure sitting in the chair was covered in shadow staying perfectly still.

"I'm afraid that standing idly around is not a luxury we as agents of the Dai Li posses. Please once you have changed come meet us at the aforementioned lake. We must report the good news to hid highness." They punch their fists into an open palm and bow before her as they leave.   

They decided to try a softer approach. "Look miss I don't know how or when he's seen you but he really wants to meet with you. And if we don't make it happen we could loose our jobs. You know how royalty can be I'm sure no harm can come from meeting with the king."

Their conversation would be cut short as a trio of Dai Li agents approach the two of them. The leader spoke he had a very posh tone to his words. "Miss Argentine will you please come with us? The Earth King has invited you to lake laogai." Given the last girls attempt they were more direct this time. "Please do bear in mind any instruction the Earth King gives must be followed to the letter or you will be branded a traitor. But I'm sure it won't come to that will it miss?"

Once the dust cleared it would seem she had fled. Angered the unit leader took it out on his remaining officer. "You Morons couldn't handle a little rich girl."

The officer looked to his superior and said. "Judging from what she did ti Zao chung I'd say were dealing with more than just a spoiled rich girl sir."

The captain annoyed punched the wall breaking the earth around it.

They noted her aggressive stance and advanced on her. Two of them came from the back while the leader stood infront of her. They attempted to restrain her arms with their earth shackles.

The three of them took a breath and the commander spoke. "The earth king has invited you to lake laogai. We have come to escort you to his location."

The Dai Li was the secretive and elite police force of Ba Sing Se who worked to capture, interrogate, and imprison political dissidents.The organization was founded by Avatar Kyoshi with the aim of "protecting the cultural heritage of Ba Sing Se"

The Dai Li became corrupt over time and did not fulfill the purposes proposed and intended by its founder. The corrupt leader was able to conspire with the Dai Li and effectively rule Ba Sing Se, reducing the position of the Earth King to nothing more than a figurehead.Selectively picked at a young age, the agents of the Dai Li were elite officers of Ba Sing Se trained and controlled.Since speaking of the Hundred Year War with the Fire Nation was against the law in Ba Sing Se, the Dai Li kept a close watch on all refugees and new immigrants to the city, removing anyone who dared to break the code of silence, and brainwashing them under Lake Laogai.

Abilities
The Dai Li were highly skilled earthbending masters, whose talents even surpassed those of the Earthbender Guards of the Royal Palace. Trained exclusively by Avatar Kyoshi herself, they were taught in the art of stealth and precision. They wore gloves and shoes, both made out of earthen materials, in order to earthbend on the go. Their shoes also gave them the ability to slide along the ground, increasing their speed.

The Dai Li were adept at using their stone shoes to cling to sheer rock surfaces, such as walls or ceilings. Mastery of this wall technique has been a part of their training ever since their inception and was therefore one of their most used skills. They carried a binding "weapon" called surveyors' chains within their robes, which they threw from their sleeves to ensnare and hold prisoners, particularly other earthbenders in order to inhibit their bending.They used brainwashing to force rebels to accept that there was no war within the walls of Ba Sing Se, forget certain information, and submit to their will. Most of Ba Sing Se's citizens seemed to fear them and wanted nothing to do with them, knowing that only trouble could arise from meddling in any of their affairs.
