Ba Sing Se / Re: Home Sweet Hovel

Lilibeth's smile grew and she nodded eagerly in response to Cat's terms, looking forward to spending more time with Corelia, and, if she got the chance, checking if maybe she wanted to go out and explore the City, sometime.

Not that she was sure Corelia had any interest in women at all, which would be a real shame. Still, worth a try, probably, the sweet, quiet girl had certainly caught the earth-bender's eye.

Catalin bites back the refusal that nearly jumps out of his throat at the question.  Family dispute?  That's something he could understand.  His face scrunches up in an angry grimace.  If he ever meets his father again...
Corelia's face immediately turns sorrowful and she gives Lili a sympathetic glance.  She bends back down to consult with her brother again, stopping when he speaks.
"You may," he says softly.  Corelia looks surprisedly at his face, and he turns away from her.  "Just a few rules.  Breakfast is served at sunup.  Lunch comes about midday.  Dinner an hour before sundown.  Any other food you want you're on your own.  Do not bother me when I'm asleep.  Is that all okay?"

Lili sat back quietly as Corelia and Catalin conversed, the earthbender content to rest without eavesdropping, respecting the privacy of her temporary hosts.

At the question, she opened her mouth to answer in the negative, only to pause as a rather intriguing thought came to her. With her family after her, she didn't have anywhere to stay right now, and she would really rather stay here, with Corelia, than in some fancypants hotel.

"Actually.. there is one thing.." Lili replied, carefully, a smile growing on her face as she realized what they could offer her in exchange. "If I'm honest with you, my family and I are currently having a.. dispute, and because of that I can't go home. Would it be okay for me to crash here for a few days, while I sort things out?" Lilibeth asked, grinning, the idea of spending more time with Corelia, and using this peaceful place as her safehouse, sounding Very appealing to the young earthbender.

"...Thank you..."  Corelia withdraws the pouch and holds it tightly to her chest.  They'd never had two gold coins to rub together, let alone a whole bag.  She can't even comprehend just how much money that is.  Maybe they could get a floor put in.  Her eyes flick over to Cat.  No, that's not an option.  But...aside from their food, what could they possibly do with all that money?  "...What..."  She tries to ask a question, but freezes up.  She creeps over to Cat and whispers something in his ear.  "How much is in there?" he whispers back.
"A lot...it's gold, too..."
Cat pretends to look into the pouch held in front of him, reaching up and hefting it with his hand.  "Is there nothing else we can do for you to earn this?" he says over his shoulder to Lilibeth.

Lili was fairly sure this must be important, but she didn't comment, only giving Corelia a kind smile and shaking her head in response to her attempts to return the purse.

"Nah, if anything it's not enough! Best Meal and Heal I've Ever had; you guys should open a business, or something!" Lili replied, happily, her grin wide as she waved Corelia's unwillingness to accept the purse, away.

He smiled as she accepted his offer and set the tray down on the table. It wasn't long before the king poured himself and his honored  guest a glass of wine. He passed her the goblet drinking from his own. "This wine is a good year. Real shame they spoil it with the unfortunate demise off all those air benders." He closed his eyes and raised his glass. "May the ways of the air nomad live on in the hearts and minds of the people. Not as grand as us but a wonderful culture all the same wouldn't you agree?" He asked the lovely lady with a smile.

Sat before him were several closed envelopes, each with a similar, if not identical request for raw materials to ply his craft. Pushing himself up, Rohan grabs the envelopes and the money he had before leaving the small confines of his forge and home. Once the letters were posted, he'd be looking at a response of a couple of days, and that's if anyone had the forethought to have stock within the city. Knowing this, he'd be best locating some materials to get himself started, even if he'd be paying a mark up he'd rather be avoiding.

Pausing at his doorway, Rohan looks towards the small warhammer, designed to be hefted and swung with one hand as opposed to the usual two-handed variant. While he did have one of those too, the smaller hammer tended to draw less attention from unwanted individuals when out in the streets. Seeing the wom- Argentine become a victim of theft, he decided he couldn't be too careful these days, grabbing and securing the one-handed hammer to his belt before stepping out into the streets, a purpose in mind.

"Of course, I've always wanted to travel but never really found the opportunity to do so. Not that I mind not doing so either, seeing as it's such a beautiful city."

In truth, the Earth Bender wasn't hungry at all, but how could she refuse an offer from the Earth King? And a gentleman of one at that too. She had a nagging feeling at the back of her mind that something didn't seem right here, that it was all too good to be true. However, she pushed that thought away, she was with royalty after all!

"Please, I would love to." she said with a smile, taking a piece of the exquisite finger food to sample, chewing thoughtfully as she allowed herself the time to savor all the flavors of royal cuisine.

"Lived in Ba Sing Se all your life oh how grand." He clasped his hands together then placed them in this lap. "What better place than our fair city to spend ones days." He seemed to take pride in his city. "Argentine would you care for some fine food or maybe you'd join me in sampling the wine." He said as he held the bottle in one hand and the food platter in the other.

"Ad it's a pleasure to meet you as well, my name is Argentine. I have lived in Ba Sing Se all my life with my brother - I also lived with my parents until just a few months ago." Her blush deepened slightly when he kissed her hand. For one thing, she did admire his manners but to have a king kiss her hand! Such an honor!

She tilted her head thoughtfully, 'He is quite young for a king... perhaps he was recently appointed due to family circumstances?'
